The Health Environment Research Agenda for Europe (HERA) final conference was held on March 18, 2022 as a hybrid event in Paris and online, under the patronage of the French EU Presidency.
HERA is a European Horizon 2020 project that aims to propose a Health and Environment Research Agenda for 2020-2030, develop priorities for the European Union, and support decision-making in these areas.
The one-day final conference highlighted the six major research goals on the environment, climate and health and presented numerous specific recommendations for research, which can lead to policies promoting health and the environment.
The conference topics focused on:
- research to support the Green Deal implementation;
- climate change and health;
- urban and rural areas;
- research and expertise on the impact of chemicals;
- environment and pandemics;
- environmental burden of disease;
- mechanisms of societal and economic transformation.
HEAL has been involved in this project to support stakeholder engagement, dissemination and science to policy communication.
