HEAL has signed a letter, initiated by ClientEarth, alongside other organisations, calling for the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Commissioner for Economy and Productivity; Implementation and Simplification Valdis Dombrovskis calling to refrain from advancing the proposed deregulatory chemicals omnibus to protect health and the environment.
HEAL has sent a letter to EU Heads of State as they are set to adopt the EU’s Strategic Agenda 2024-2029 later this week.
HEAL urges them to include measures to tackle pollution for people’s health in their blueprint for the next five years of EU policymaking – the latest draft now considers measures on climate change as well as nature protection but is silent on reducing pollution and the positive impacts on people’s health:
HEAL calls on you to mention health clearly in the title of the priority on a strong and secure Europe, and to add measures to reduce pollution across the different sectors concerned.
