HEAL is supported by over 70 member organisations. We bring independent scientific evidence from the health community to European and global decision-makers to inspire disease-prevention strategies.
Since 2003, member engagement has been at the heart of HEAL’s mission. A broad membership allows us to pool expertise, widely disseminate information, and amplify successes to create social and policy change.
HEAL members actively engage on the HEAL advocacy priorities that align with their interests and expertise. A committed, informed, and well-represented membership is the foundation of HEAL’s success.

Working with members
HEAL offers working groups on air, chemicals and pesticides, climate, and environmental health, plus the EDC-Free Europe working group. Members meet online regularly to share updates, receive advocacy support, discuss public consultations, and review the latest policy developments.
Members have exclusive access to our online platform where they can:
- Interact with the HEAL team and other members
- Manage membership details and registrations
- Register for events and access recordings
- Join working groups and access the resource library
Members meet twice yearly—once online and once in-person in Brussels. At these meetings we determine and endorse HEAL policy guidelines, review accounts and budgets, approve new memberships, and—every four years—elect the Executive Committee.
HEAL’s board comprises elected representatives from member organisations. The board sets priorities and oversees our annual work programme.
The secretariat supports members on policy, advocacy, communications, and organisational development.
