In lieu of the European Parliament voting on a Resolution on the EU position and commitment in advance to the UN high-level meeting on the prevention and control of non-communicable disease New York, USA, 19-20 September 2011, HEAL produced a fact sheet titled ’Chronic disease: How do environmental factors play a role?’

In an Open Letter to the European Commission, HEAL also urged the health commissioner John Dalli to bring environmental factors to the agenda along with the four so-called “lifestyle” factors: tobacco, poor diets, alcohol and lack of physical activity. Read Open Letter here.
