HEAL has sent a letter to EU environment ministers ahead of an Environment Council meeting on 17 June 2025, calling on them to ensure that the REACH revision will deliver the long-awaited improvement of human health and environment protection from harmful chemicals.
Seventeen NGOs, including HEAL, wrote a joint letter to the to the European Commission to alert them to recent findings indicating a failure in the current framework for nano labelling. This raises important questions about the extent of chronic exposure to numerous nanomaterials via daily products and the potential adverse effects over the mid- and long-term. The letter also suggests measures for increased knowledge, transparency, and vigilance on nanomaterials.
