In 2025, HEAL welcomed several new organisations into its international network of over 70 members committed to advancing health through environmental action. These new members bring valuable expertise in public health, environmental justice, and sustainable policy, further strengthening the capacity of the alliance to help face the challenges from biodiversity loss, pollution and climate change. Learn more about their missions and work below.
Under the seventh Environmental Action Plan (7th EAP), the European Commission is committed to the development of a Union’s strategy for a non-toxic environment by the end of 2018. According to the Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL), keeping that promise will be a game changer.
Following the publication of HEAL’s vision on Europe leading the way to a non-toxic environment, we wrote a letter to the European Commission outlying our vision for a European non-toxic environment strategy and a proposal for twelve priority actions.
A letter from the European Commission responding to this urge to action is available online.
