Esther Smollich is HEAL’s Senior Science and Policy Officer in the Health and Chemicals Programme. She monitors and engages with EU chemical policy files and scientific studies and research on chemical hazards as well as the effects of chemical exposure on humans and the environment to develop science-based policy positions.
Before joining HEAL, Esther worked in industry as a regulatory affairs expert. She holds a PhD in Natural Sciences, focusing on ecotoxicology research. Her areas of expertise include persistent organic pollutants, transformation reactions of chemicals, and chemical effects on the molecular, organism, population, and ecosystem level.
