Vanessa López co-founded Salud por Derecho in 2004, a non-profit foundation dedicated to defending the right to health globally through research, advocacy, and awareness-raising. She has a degree in Psychology from the Autonomous University of Madrid and a master’s in international development Cooperation from Comillas Pontifical University.
Based in Spain, Vanessa works at national, European, and global levels to address key determinants of health. Her focus areas include: promoting universal health coverage and combating HIV/AIDS and other global pandemics; reforming the pharmaceutical R&D model to ensure universal access to affordable medicines; addressing climate change and its impacts on human health; and protecting the right to health for undocumented migrants.
