Angeliki Lyssimachou is HEAL’s Senior Science Policy Officer who provides scientific support for the health and chemicals programme at HEAL. She leads HEAL’s activities on pesticides, biocides and human biomonitoring, and is supporting HEAL’s role in the EU research project ATHLETE and POLYRISK on coordinating the dissemination and communication of research findings
Angeliki’s background is on environmental science and toxicology. She has a PhD and 12 years of research experience in the field of endocrine disrupters and their impact on the environment and its species. She has worked in research centres and universities in UK, Greece, Spain, Norway and Portugal.
In 2014, she joined Pesticide Action Network Europe in Brussels, where she coordinated the high-profile campaigns and advocacy on endocrine disruptors, glyphosate and risk assessment reform among others.
Angeliki has been a member of expert and advisory groups in European Commission, European Food Safety Authority and OECD. She is the author of over 10 scientific and academic peer-reviewed journal articles and several civil society publications.
