Initiativ Liewensufank – Petition on TTIP and concerns of consumer protection

Initiativ Liewensufank in Luxemburg is part of the NGO consortium collecting signatures for the self organised European Citizen’s Initiative on TTIP and concerns of consumer protection.

The concerns are that this trade agreement and other might weaken the protection of consumers and especially of the most vulnerable groups being infant and young children. For example in the US, there is not legislation in place on the International Code for Marketing of breast milk substitutes. As there are less maternity protection laws in the US, it could endanger the social protection in Europe.
