C2DS: EMAS guidelines for the Health sector

The Committee for sustainable development in health care (C2DS), with 400 hospital members in France, has just released methodological EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) guidelines for the Health sector.

EMAS is a voluntary environmental management instrument, which enables organisations to assess, manage and continuously improve their environmental performance. In order to enhance the ecological transition, the French ministry for ecology, sustainable development and energy had mandated the C2DS in 2012-13 to foster 12 hospitals towards the EMAS registration.

These guidelines raise awareness, provide key answers and help health care establishments enhancing their environmental performance.
