Green Climate Fund should exclude financing of fossil fuels

HEAL has signed on to a letter asking the Board of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) to exclude the financing of fossil fuels and other harmful energy projects or programs.

A letter with the same request was first sent to the GCF Board in May at their 7th meeting in Korea. As the 8th meeting of the GCF Board took place during the Global Week of Action on Energy last week (10 – 18 October), it was important to reiterate the message of the letter to the Board as well as contributing to various actions around the world against dirty energy.

Many other organisations from developing countries and the global south networks have also signed the letter alongside HEAL.

The final letter with the list of signatories and endorsers will be available soon.
