HEAL press release with our member organisation the European Respiratory Society, 31 July 2009, "Respiratory doctors call for EU action on climate change" was used by Italy’s leading newspaper Corriere della Sera, which published a one-page article on 5 August 2009 entitled "Ammalarsi di caldo, allarme in Europa Malattie respiratorie in aumento. I medici inviano un documento-denuncia alla Ue"
British Medical Journal (BMJ) also published an article on 2 September 2009 (reference: doi:10.1136/bmj.b3530 *Cite this as:* BMJ 2009;339:b3530) entitled "Global warming is more harmful for people with respiratory problems, warns specialist society".

European policy press: Euractiv, a leading European policy website, quoted HEAL in an article entitled "EU mulls climate-change adaptation strategy".
Commenting on the working document on health and climate change launched at the beginning of April, Executive Director of the Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL), Genon Jensen, said "it reflects the urgency associated with many of the actions needed today. However, we must rapidly go beyond surveillance to implementing actions to ensure that the EU provides hospitals, clinics, doctors and patients with the tools and examples of good practice they need to make the change happen." Our press release is attached to the article as one of two NGO positions, along with WWF.
Public health expert journal: Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health published Genon Jensen’s article "Taking the reins of the white horse of climate change" in March 2009. It outlines HEAL’s position on why health and equity must become the central goals of climate change policy at the UNFCCC meeting in Copenhagen in December 2009.
