Youth Participation
Children as agents of Change - How children have influenced health and environment policy by the European Child Safety Alliance states that ¨Ministers are too inhibited about tackling the bad health of adults, perhaps for fear of the ´nanny state´ charge. To begin with children and then widen out hte progranne to adults may make a lot of sense.¨ Editorial comment in The Guardian (UK), December 10, 2003.
How do we therefore involve our Children and Youth in the decisions about their environment that effect their health.
UNEP have a very active programme involving youth in decision making processes called TUNZA, who took part in the Budapest Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health and produced a Youth Declaration on Environment and Health.
The European Commission DG Environment also run a web-site for youngs Europeans
