International Conference on Health Aspects of Indoor and Outdoor Air Pollution

The Luxemburg Centre for Public Research Gabriel Lippmann is organising a conference on 12 November that will address new insights on the effects of air pollutants on important health issues such as allergy and asthma or cancer risks. This event is the first one in a planned row of biannual conferences that will focus on different aspects of Environment and Health.

It will cover a range of novel approaches to monitor air pollutants. The program will include keynote lectures, oral presentations and poster sessions covering recent developments in the field of air pollutants and environmental health aspects.

The FP6 project HENVINET will hold its Annual Progress Meeting at the same venue site. HENVINET reviews, exploits and disseminates knowledge on environmental health issues based on research and practices, for wider use by relevant stakeholders. Furthermore, it will lead to validation of tools and results with emphasis on the four priority health diseases of the European Environment and Health Action Plan (EHAP) 2004-2010 (asthma and allergies, cancer, neurodevelopmental disorders and endocrine disrupting effects), and will provide structured information overview that may be utilised by other actors relevant to Environment and Health Strategy.

The conference venue will be the Coque Conference Center in the heart of Luxembourg-Kirchberg. For more information please consult: http://henvi.lippmann.lu
