On 23 June, the European Commission will organise the INSPIRE Conference 2008 on “implementation and beyond” in Maribor, Slovenia. The conference will review the progress of the INSPIRE legislation after the adoption in 2007 of the directive on Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community. It will review the Spatial Data Infrasctrures (SDI) as well.
The SDI Unit provides technical and scientific support to the INSPIRE directive and to Shared Environmental Information System (SEIS), Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) and the intergovernmental Group on Earth Observations (GEO). The conference will also define possible synergies between the INSPIRE legislation and those other policy actions.
