In March 2007, the findings of a new French study on the relationship between environmental problems and respiratory health were presented to the press. The research, conducted among children in Paris, showed that wheeze, night coughing and eczema were the main respiratory problems appearing during their first years of life.
The objective of the study, launched in 2003 and following children up to the age of 7, is to link these data on respiratory health with data on the environment they live in.
As of 2008-2009, this type of reaseach will be conducted at the national level.
